Baby girls are being 'converted' into boys in sex-change operations bought for thousands of pounds by parents deperate for a son.
Hundreds of girls - some as young as one - are having the procedure every year, it was claimed yesterday.
Wealthy parents in Delhi and Mumbai are flocking to the central city of Indore to pay £2,000 for children aged up to five to have surgery known as genitoplasty.
Some were said to have pressed for the operation despite warnings that the 'converted' boy would be infertile.
The procedure, normally used to corect a genital abnormality in fully grown patients, involves doctors building a penis using tissues from female organs before hormone drugs are administered. It has become popular because Indian society places a strong value on producing a son and heir. Sex determination tests during pregnancy are banned to stamp out the practice of women aborting female foetuses after alarming falls in the ratio of women to men.
Up to seven experts are believed to have each turned between 200 and 300 girls into 'boys'. Critics voiced their anger yesterday after the 'unprecedented' trend was uncovered in a report by the Hindustan Times.
Author Taslima Nasreen wrote on Twitter: 'Shocking! Not only do people kill unborn girls, they turn girls into boys by genitoplasty'.
Commentators say the system is unmonitored and open to abuse and have called for new regulations after legal experts said it was not against the law. 'There has to be some guideline or law on how a child who is barely old enough to talk can undergo a life-changing surgery at the parents will', said Dr. Anil Bhadoria, of the Indian Medical Association.
A parent whose child had genitoplasty aged two said: 'I think he would not be confused over his gender when he grows up and can live a normal life as he would not have any memories of the surgery'.

Fact or Fiction.

My recent profile status was to let all my friends & others not on my list to know, that i'm not ignoring them but a fact for the delay in response or none at all.
I used to spend my weekends replying to as many as I could but it's an impossible task with replies & new msgs flooding in constantly.
I accept friendship requests with...'FACE ON, NOT FACE OFF'.
I'm not here to Impress or Suppress, only to Express.
I've nothing to gain or gained by lies/deception in my life and not going to start now, on here, anywhere or ever.
It's not difficult to get these figures, especially for women on networking. For many it's curiosity and not the good of others or better themselves from learning, sharing or caring from this opportunity via networking.
Why do you think, there are so many fake identities here, especially by men pretending to be women? Classic one is Jayabharathi...

Don't know whether to laugh or cry but doing neither.

Slaved away on low pay, at times no pay or gratitude.
Learned skills in their spare time against all odds.
They never gave up, no matter how tough it got.
Some never even benefited from their hard work.
Or enjoyed the rewards of their sacrifices.
If they were to return and see the conditions.
Nature replaced by Concrete jungles.
They wasted less, as most lived with needs than wants.
Very happy with just the basics, never complaining.
Ask them, what the following words are...
Global warming, Green house effect & Carbon footprints, etc.
Or what YouTube or Google are?
They wouldn't have a clue.
They will probably think of paste out of a tube, fluorescent tube.
Even though i miss my dear beloved father.
I've come to the realisation, it was his time to go.
I used to worry about him, being in pain or all alone.
Whilst we are at work, unable to be there for him.
Especially the last 3 months of his life, bedridden & helpless.
The Japanese earth quake and other natural disaster are an eye opener.
Life and everything gone in seconds.
We complain just about everything.
Depressed or heart broken.
When they can't access network or a loved one has left them.
Life goes on, no matter what happens.
Be grateful for what we have.
Nowadays, many want to make quick buck.
By sacrificing everything for their greed.
Give back, it's not all about take, take, take.
World owes us nothing..
Play your part, the best you can.

Pretentious Love...
Feeling strange with no intent,
Empty, yet fully content,
Relieved to be away from the norm,
Betrayed or deceived by the form,
My conscience is clear,
Once i held him so dear,
Rain cooling my soul,
Now his behaviour so foul,
I was intrigued,
At times very confused,
Life was a complicated maze,
Traveling through time in a daze,
Never ending tunnel,
Wish to drown in the channel,
When will this torture end,
Please don't pretend as i will defend.

Unconditional Love Ever!
I was happy with life,
But felt incomplete,
Something missing,
Been searching,
For the jigsaw piece,
Iron out the creases,
Smooth out uneven edges,
Many enter your life,
Few rip out your heart,
Leave you bruised & battered,
Unforgettable memories,
Some never to forget,
And others, we want to regret,
Now i realise,
The feeling was,
What I was going to be missing...
It's my father, the only man in my life to have loved me unconditionally.

'UNIMPORTANT', 'ANONYMOUS', RELIGION & POLITICS'...
'UNIMPORTANT'...
The 'Importance' of family members are not 'defined' by 'Admission of my Feelings or Submission of their Pictures' on Face book.
"It's called Face Book not Family Book!".
How do you know, if they want to be revealed to friends on Fb?You should not assume if you're unsure or in doubt, it would be polite and better to ask instead of making hurtful and unwarranted statements/comments.
I used to have pictures of them in my last account, which was hacked and pics were misused. They were hassling certain members of my family for more information about me via their Fb account. So i decided to opt out of having them here, thus less chance of them being traced.
I don't ask anyone else about their family members, they usually tell me and i do the same too when we feel comfortable to talk about.
Friendship here is based on 'One 2 One', no need to drag the whole family into this friendship on networking.
Q : Do you take all your family members to your place of work, business meetings, etc or other places of no interest/concern?
A: NO.
Q: Would you display your family pictures to your colleagues or everyone you meet on your daily routine.
A: NO
Q: Would you diisplay their pictures, to be used or exposed on unsavoury sites?
A: NO.
My pics are my choice to share and don't need anyone else's permission to do so.

Nothing surprises me anymore. There are people on networking, they thrive on inflicting pain and destruction amongst others for their sick fantasy. They're gutless, useless, hopeless, worthless and also operating under fake identities or with photographs stolen from other profiles.
'Anons'...(Anonymous) the 'Brave Heros', that like to speak their mind but keep their true identities a 'SECRET'.
Good for you...'THUMBS UP or HIGH FIVE' to you. Sad people without morals, values or respect for anyone.
I had a comment made on my Blog by 'An Anon', on the topic on 'Mohanlal & Mammooty'. It's obvious, Anon did not read it properly or misunderstood the whole concept.
Never mind, 'Some mothers do have them' as the saying goes...lol

How does it feel, unable to express your views without revealing yourself?.
It takes courage to stand up for your beliefs. Once you start, the feeling is truly priceless. Don't be a sheep and follow blindly or scream and shout to prove a point, like nursery kids. Make that change and a difference in your life, also for benefit of others too.
'RELIGION & POLITICS'...
I also know there are politics within Facebook too. Some people don't comment on certain poeple's wall so they write inbox so their friends don't see it for the fear of being discarded by bullies.
Damn...'Politics' creeps into everything, even social gathering on networking...lol
'Religion & Politics, should be creating Unity but all it does is Divide & Rule', both Man-made, Dividing Mankind.
Religion - Aim, teaching of God... about Love & Unity, not Fear or any Negativities.
Politics - is to bring equality between the human race. freedom also to stop or ease the suffering of many but both are used to benefit the Rich, Famous & Powerful ones to satisfy their Greed and not the Need of the suffering.
Networking should be about bringing everyone from all over the world together to do Good not Evil.
Wishing you all a beautful life without any Fear...only Peace, Love & Happiness.
